How to use Leather and Suede Cords

The leather and suede are great for anyone with a metal allergy. These soft cords can be used with any chunky beads, pendants or in many art and craft projects. Use them on their own or with other cords, ribbon or chain to create your own unique piece of jewellery. They come in many colours to match your beads and pendants.

How to attach a Folding end crimp

Cut your leather or suede cord to the desired length and thread on your beads or pendant. Place one end of the cord into the base of a folding end crimp and using chain nose pliers close one side of the crimp over onto the cord. Flatten with the pliers and repeat with the other side of the crimp. Fasten a folding end crimp to the other end of the cord.

How to attach the Clasp

To join your clasp with a jump ring first open the jump ring with chain nose pliers and then attach the ring through the hole in the folding end and then through the loop of the clasp before closing the jump ring. Make sure you open and close the jump ring using two pairs of pliers using a backward and forward movement to prevent distortion of the jump ring.
